Heating & Cooling FAQ

What is a tankless water heater?

A tankless water heater is a wall mounted heater that provides an on demand endless supply of hot water through a heat exchange system. It is both space saving and the most energy efficient water heater available.

Why are some of the rooms in my house colder or hotter than others?

Furnaces with older style blower motors are not as efficient as the current ones with DC motors which have the ability to distribute the air more effectively reducing the fluctuations in temperatures between rooms.

Why do I see spots on my dishes?

Hard water is a problem in our region. There are many minerals which leave a residue on dishes, stainless steel surfaces and plumbing fixtures. Installing a water softener in your home will make a difference by reducing the minerals in the municipal water supply.

What is a Reverse Osmosis filtration system?

A Reverse Osmosis (RO) system is a drinking water filtration system. Typically they have a tank that stores the filtered water with a separate water tap on your kitchen counter that it pours from. Most RO’s have at least 3 filters which filter out different particles and contaminants found in our drinking water.

How often should I change my furnace filter?

This all depends on the type and quality of filter you have and the quality of your indoor air. Some are only made to last 30 days while others can last up to 6 months. If you have pets in the home, you may want to change them more frequently than recommended due to the fur and dander.
